Services: I'm here for you

While I love to design and develop a product from start to finish, I can also help you address a very specific need, like testing your existing product with real users, give you an expert view on your problem or prototype your project before it goes into development.

Strategy / Workshops

Every successful project starts with a careful, user-oriented strategy. This ensures that all actors share the vision and assessment of the project. My approach is based on Design Thinking, which

ensures that your projects are aligned strategically with the needs of your users — for the sake of your business goals and your budget.

UX Research

In General, UX Research is a Contextual Inquiry, and tries with interviews and direct observation answer questions of the form: What tasks do your users have to perform? What are your challenges? Where are your pain points?

A contextual inquiry is also indispensable for the validation of Personas, User Journey Maps or the Information Architecture.  Especially in fields of high specialization, user observations are indispensable to acquire the necessary domain knowledge.

User Testing (Qual / Quant)

With my background in Psychology I'm well versed in conducting a usability tests for your product or prototype. The goal of each usability test is to gain valuable knowledge about your users' expectations, motivations and behavior. If a test is to be conducted while product development is on-going, I try to do the testing in batches of 4-8 users, so I can do with them a focus-group-style group discussion afterwards (total length: 1-2h). The insights of such combined sessions have greatly increased my clients' understanding of their user's needs and in turn, generated better business!

Expert Reviews

Expert reviews examine the usability and user experience of existing projects using established principles of user guidance. They provide a fresh, unbiased view and help to efficiently improve products. The insights gained can feed directly into development or form the basis for a new direction.

Prototyping

Prototyping

Use interactive prototypes to see if your stakeholder's needs are being met and gain insight into their behavior.  The high degree of interactivity allows a very realistic simulation of the end product at a fraction of the development costs.

The main benefit of prototyping is that workflows can be tested from start to finish and that gaps in concept and content quickly become apparent. A realistic simulation of the end product not only allows your development team to come up with a more precise time and cost estimate, you can also user-test your product before going into development, thereby reducing the risk of costly feature changes.
